I was in London the other day visiting a friend or 3 and I popped into Selfridges to help Sian pick out a new foundation off the MAC counter and opposite is the NARS counter. I ran over straight away as I've been wanting to try this for so long but I don't have a counter near me and I'd have no idea what shade I was.
I spoke to a lovely lady there and explained I have dry skin but I can get oily round my nose and she said it should be fine for me, the lovely lady sat me down and she matched me to the shade Gobi, there are 19 shades available.
As implied by the name the finish is sheer but you can build it up, It's capable of full coverage and does give me a wonderful glow something I'm not used to without highlighting so I was worried I looked greasy but I can honestly say it's not greasy unless used on the oily areas of my face without powdering.
I really like the finish it gives me as I've always been heavily matte faced, the foundation itself is quite watery compared to what I've been using lately mainly Estee Lauder's famous Double wear, in my opinion a very high coverage, thick foundation.
I've worn Sheer glow over the last week and applied it using my fingers, a beauty blender, a real techniques buffing and expert face brush to see what the finish is like and I feel I get the best results with finger tip or Beauty Blender application.
(Apologies for the unflattering angle etc but it was just so bright in my room and hall I couldn't get a single good photo and my nose kept doing the whole white vanishing act until I just laid down on my bed after being defeated by the sun!)
I only have some Benefit erase paste just dotted under my eyes so the coverage is pretty good when built. Great for when your skin is behaving!
I used my normal moisturiser and primer before I applied this foundation but I found after lunch my face had sort of dissolved, especially around my nose and chin, I reapplied and powdered these areas but still found it wasn't fantastic for staying.
Overall I do like the foundation and it's so light and easy to blend but it's very pricey for something I feel doesn't cover the main area of my face. I might try a different primer and wait longer after moisturising, If you're dry this is really good but the oily areas on my face are a massive no go, I'll keep trying different ways to apply as I want to love this product!
