REVIEW | Mark Hill | MiracOILicious 2 Minute Treatment

There has been a massive surge of 'oil' products to the hair care market lately and after looking in to it a little I found out that a lot of 'oils' weren't even all that worth buying as a bottle of the normal non branded stuff can be found quite inexpensively and don't have any silicones and nasty bits in! I dabbled with some pure and some Loreal stuff and I still haven't settled on one as well as the whole oil hair care thing being quite confusing. I'm not going to lie I'm really not a fan of the name of this line of products, it's such a mouthful but I picked it up on a whim in the Boots sale, you may have seen in my previous post here

I've only used this twice but I'm so happy with the results I thought I should share, my hair has been like straw, I mean it made a crunch sound when I touched it! After having over an inch lopped off at the hairdressers the other day I felt very sad and sorry for my poor, now very short locks. My hair has been red, blonde, ombre and now dark chocolate brown in the last few months leaving it in dire need of some TLC.

This stuff smells like heaven, I've not smelled anything like it but it's so yummy it smells like sweets, my boyfriend kept asking to smell me because its so good and the smell really stays in my hair. The treatment boasts an impressive list of ingredients such as vanilla, shea butter, argan oil and wheat proteins. It also has a nice thick consistency but melts onto the hair, I didn't find I had any residue left after rinsing thoroughly with cool water.

My hair is now shiny for the first time in honestly months, it's been so dull and sad looking I'll be using this once out of every 2/3 washes, all you have to do is squeeze the excess water out of your hair after shampooing and run a dollop from root to tip, I mainly focus on my ends give myself a little head massage and then pop my hair in a clip and continue to relax in my bath.

There is a hair oil, shampoo and conditioner in the range so I shall be investing in the conditioner as I have the oil and shampoo, I have looked for the kit on Boots but I think it's sold out, it was only £11 and the hair treatment itself is £7.99 so it's a super bargain if you can find it in store, however it's currently on a 3 for 2 at Boots if you fancy a try!

I think this is worth it for the smell alone, have you tried this? Whats your favourite thing to get sad locks back in ship shape? Let me know in the comments below!

SALES | Boxing Day & Beyond

Well first of all Merry Christmas, what a day!
Christmas for me was strange this time round, I think I'm just ready to see the backside of this horrible year, it's been one of the hardest for me but onwards and upwards eh.
So father Christmas visited my house, I probably deserved some coal after my behaviour in the early half of this year! However he was very good to me and I got a new 32g iPad with cellular and all that jazz after asking for an iPad mini as I travel to and from London a lot at the moment so I was very thankful to my lovely mum, who I know worked hard to get me it! My boyfriends parents are amazing and got me a £60 Illamasqua voucher and Diesel Loverdose Tattoo perfume, so I was pretty pleased with myself considering I was under the impression I wasn't getting anything as I'm 'too old' (THERES NO SUCH THING AS TOO OLD FOR CHRISTMAS, GUYS!)

My lovely friend Jess got me Ariel in her little pink dress and fluffy shawl to add to my embarrassingly large collection of Disney toys and the best earrings and necklace in the world, how flipping cute are they!

I was very naughty and went to Boots on Boxing day and got The Mark Hill MiracOILicous set for £11 instead of £22, I'd been dying to try this but didn't want to pay £8 for a pot of conditioner that I hate, I have a bad habit of doing this lately.
I then saw the perfumes had been reduced and got myself the Juicy Couture La La set for just £17 from boots it's usually priced at £35 for the perfume alone. I also got my mum Lacoste Touch of pink for £16 again from £25 and it's still available here so be quick! I have been after an electric tooth brush for ages and this leads me to believe I am getting old. Very worrying that I was SO excited to get the Oral B 800 Sensitive clean brush for £15 instead of £30. Easily pleased aren't I, I don't really like the idea of going out buying loads of things in sales on boxing day because Christmas isn't really meant to be about that but I don't have the conventional family, the house was empty so I used it as an excuse to have a wonder, oops.
I feel very much like the 'magic' of Christmas isn't really like it was any more, it's all very rushed and stressful then before you know it the days over and everyones forgotten what Christmas is all about, however I did have a really nice day!

I hope everyone had a faaaaaablus Christmas and got to spend some quality time with your family/friends and got lots of presents.

Did you visit the sales? Do you think the sales take away from the magic of Christmas? Or do you love Christmas just for the sales!
Let me know what you think in the comments!

REVIEW | Illamasqua | Brow Cake | Thunder

I have been through probably every eyebrow fad there has been, from over plucking and looking like I was constantly surprised, bold intense dark brows to not bothering and I think I have finally found one of my favourite products for my eyebrows. As an avid Anastasia Brow Wiz fan I thought I was set for life but at £15.50 plus delivery it was on the pricey side and only lasted me a month or so, so I was on the look out for something longer lasting but as easy and amazing as the Brow Wiz so let me introduce you to this babe of a product.

I'm a massive fan of Illamasqua anyway but when I read about Brow Cake on their website I thought meh, I'd tried MUA & Benefits powder brow sets and thought it was such a faff and hassle as well as sometimes the colour not being a great match however I went to the Illamasqua store last weekend on a family trip out and headed straight towards the brow cake and got matched to the shade Thunder, a dark brown shade, I thought it looked rather red but the colour isn't at all on my brow.

As always with Illamasqua the packaging is uniform, clean and well designed, theres even a little mirror in the compact for touch ups on the go.

There are 6 shades in the collection and they are £15.50 for 4.5g of product, I hardly used any of the product as the colour payoff is brilliant. A lovely lady applied some for me in store and I felt like my brows looked a million times better, I wanted to hug the lady who helped me in there she was so sweet, she made me feel at ease and complimented me so much on my hair. (I recently had a horrible experience in a well known make up store and I won't be going back so customer service really does matter!)

These swatches are just me pressing differently on my brush, the texture is a dream, its so soft and velvety, the product also stayed on my eyebrows all day without any setting spray and I even got rained on. I use a Real Techniques brow brush to apply this and it works perfectly for me.

(I will add a photo here of my brows very soon, I had an accident and bumped my head at work and actually knocked myself out, so I have a big lump on my right brow at the moment! So accident prone)

Have you tried Brow cake? What do you think? What's your Holy Grail brow product?
